The Wrestler: 477I’m not really into dramas as I’m more of a horror / sci-fi kinda guy, but I remember catching this movie on cable and not being able to look away from the screen. It was also one of the first movies (along with toy story 3) that I saw on cable that got me back into being a movie lover again. I’ve always grown up with movies, but there was a time in middle school - high school where I wasn’t watching any, I was just playing GTA IV all day, till my PS3 crashed and I caught this on cable. It just took my breath away and I decided from then on I’d watch movies again.
It was just so real and honest, and I’m a pretty big wrestling fan (even though the product nowadays is kinda lame, I still watch it) This movie also made me a Mickey Rourke fan as well, and it made me go back and watch some of his earlier stuff like Diner. But besides the wrestling aspect of this movie, it kinda hit home for me. My heart went out to him as a character, and I can relate to alotta the scenes in the movie, especially feeling like nobody cares about you and wanting to do your own thing.

1. I think some of these pics are real, and some they just copy-pasted his face onto a wrestlers body with a similar build.
2. I always loved this shot. He’s sitting down be he still looks kinda huge.
3. He’s looking over his career, not knowing what he’ll do next.
4. Same as #2.
5. Nothin wrong with this either. I’m a guy after all…
6. Calm down big guy…
7a 7b. Tryna feel young…
10. Now he’s bulletproof…
8a 8b 8c. I know he’s bloody but these pics are kinda badass.
*skipped 9 but I don’t feel like renaming em*

11. This pic doesn’t show it but their playing some old wrestling game. Randy is obviously trying to capture his glory days digitally and not physically.
12. Here’s his daughter Stephanie (Evan Rachel Wood) I always loved her intensity as an actress, very real.
13. At first he tries to act like everything is okay, but reality starts to set in that his glory days are over.
14. Basically the same as #13 except different gender…
15. The hoodie is badass…
16. Love this shot, very relaxing…
17. Love the jacket, but this shot is cute too. You can tell his daughter is beginning to forgive him. I guess I can bring this up now, but the weird thing about both these people is originally they weren’t the first choices for the role. I heard Nicolas Cage was actually gonna be Randy and some other chick was gonna be Stephanie but she dropped out. But thank goodness, cause these 2 did a good job.
18. One of the hardest scenes for me to watch, personally. And trust me I’ve seen ALOT of difficult scenes…
19. The old lady keeps askin him to go back and change her order. Eventually he gets fed up and puts one of em in his mouth lol. This is probably one of my favorite scenes not just in the movie but in movies in general. It’s the ultimate “kiss my ass” scene.
20. He’s changing into his uniform like everybody else, but mentally he’s on a whole other level. 20. He’s changing into his uniform like everybody else, but mentally he’s on a whole other level. The guy on the right kinda looks like Cesaro (wwe wrestler) before he went completely bald lol.
21. Probably his last dive, and he’s been through so much. So many ups and downs throughout the movie, its probably better for him to go out doin what he loves.
